Drupal modules (Part I)

drupal

(Updated: added Drush module)

Well, Drupal is a way powerful but rather complex content management system (CMS). It can be built from the ground up. And for that you need to know what modules you want to use.

This post is the first of a series that will show the modules I use or I plan to use to redesign my old site, and of course, this blog.

So let's get started with some helper modules (those for make administrator life easier).

Drupal modules (Part II)

Following the previous post, now it's time for modules which functionality is displaying information. These modules are useful when you want to apply styles, add badges, insert images, etc.

Drupal as a choice

drupal

Now it's time for drupal. I chose drupal I do not know exactly why. I was looking for a flexible CMS, and wordpress seemed to be mainly for blogs.

I needed more, multimedia, pages, private content... etc. I found a lot of documentation of drupal and then I tried.

Drupal has one major advantage over the rest of CMS. It has 2 modules that makes it kind of god of CMS: CCK and Views. With no programming at all and these two modules, you can make almost anything.
