Germany: first day at Braunschweig

GermanyTrips

Let's get started with the first day. Germany was a great surprise.

We first took a plane to Munich and just landed, we got in the train. 5h and a half was the time to get to a small city 40 minutes away from Hanover. The destination was Braunschweig.

Here we were welcome by Carlos, a friend which made his home ours and we were more than happy there.

This city has a population of almost 250,000 people, however is quite wide spread, and have all kind of public transport services, trains, tranvs and buses. This was the welcome, sun striking the station:

The city has pretty buildings, but most of them have been re-built since they were completely destroyed during the second World War.

This is the main square, one of the most beautiful of the city.

Besides, the owner of New Yorker, the well-known clothing store, is from this city, so he decided to buy a giant screen to hang it up in the store. Then he had to buy all the surrounding buildings, the neighbors could not sleep because of the tremendous lights.

I recommend to take bikes not only to sightsee Braunschweig but any other german city. You save time and money.
And it is healthy and sustainable!
